Our Vision
Foothills Soccer Club, a 501 c(3)
not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Youngwood, Pennsylvania, was
established in 1989 to provide a platform for soccer players living in
Western Pennsylvania to advance into a more elite soccer player.
Foothills Soccer Club is managed
by soccer administrators, countless volunteers and a nationally licensed
coaching staff dedicated to the betterment of Player Development where...
-
Each child is taught the
elements of soccer and is encouraged to express these ideals through
creative and mindful thinking in a non-threatening environment.
-
Players are encouraged to strive
for the principles of excellence. These
principles create a self-disciplined individual capable of dealing with
adverse situations on and off the soccer pitch.
-
Individual's are asked to
complete objectives as a group and team within a competitive environment.
-
Participants are taught
integrity towards sportsmanship, rules, opponents, officials and teammates
that will transcend into adulthood.
-
Players are asked to self
evaluate their roles and understand the process of accountability.
Tangible steps that we take to
achieve this vision,
-
Coaches use organized and age
appropriate training sessions designed to enhance the technical, tactical,
physical and psychological components of soccer. These sessions will
encompass small-sided games that are free flowing and coach guided not
coach directed.
-
Teams play at the highest
divisions provided by PA West Soccer Association, Region 1 and Premier
tournaments to give coaches and players a viewpoint of the progress in
development.
-
Manage and administer continual
education programs that teach today's methodologies that will be executed by
our professional staff. These programs will be promoted and organized by
the Director of Coaching.
-
Provide an Academy program that
recognizes the need to train the youngest of players in an environment that
nurtures the creative thinking of ages 6-10. This program is community
friendly as it works to allow the players continued participation in their
in-house programs.
